The house, tutorial

So, here is the clearest picture of the house that Roro has found. There, you can see the chimney pipe. What is not clearly visible is that a part of the house is done with stones and the remaining is done with wood boards.

 At first, I use some mdf (4mm) to do the socle. The house is done with foam board

I use some textured cardboard for the stone wall and the chimney.  

Doors and windows are made with balsa glued on cardboard. Remember that the the more details you create, the more realistic the overall will be.

The part of the house built with wood is done with balsa (1mm) glued on the foam board. To represent the boards, I use a ballpoint pen.

The wood is paint in clear brown, cleared in beige and white (windows on the stone wall are painted before gluing). 

The roof is done with cardboard cut to represent the slates.

Work to do... The Mc Pherson's farm

Roro has given me work to do. He has the intention to make us play the battle of Gettysburg. So, I will have to build the McPherson's farm which stood on the site of the battle.

Here is a vintage photo. We could see that the farm is composed of a barn on the left, a shed for the carts on the center of the photo and a house on the right. Of course I have many photos of the site, but this one is the only one that dates from the time of the battle.

The barn still exists today, so, I will have better pictures...

The Dance Hall

Hi ! I am actually working on a new building for Legends of the old west : The Dance Hall (officially), the brothel (in fact). As you can see, the front of the building will be covered by a equivocal pink paint. The Wood sign on the front is freehand painted and is the reproduction of a town sign I have seen. It will probably be the biggest building in the town with stairs, a balcony and a terrace (many places to be for a shooter...)

The bank

Here is the National Bank which will be used in the Lotow scenario, "Bank Robbery" 

 The building is made with textured cardboard and balsa.

This town is too small for both of us...

Friday night, we played at Legends of the Old West.

A citizen wants to create a new restaurant in town, but there is a problem : The boss of the local saloon doesn't want a competitor.  The boss decides to set fire to the building site with the help of his best customer (a drunken mexican) and some banditos. To protect the building site, the cook is helped by the sheriff, his deputies and some vigilantes.

After three hours of game, the cook was killed and the site was in flame. A nice game !

Roger's Rangers

 Roger's rangers was initially a provincial company from the colony of New Hampshire, attached to the British army during the Seven years war. It was trained by the Major Robert Rogers as a rapidly deployable light infantry force tasked mainly with reconnaissance as well as conducting special operations against distant targets.

I use to clear some areas on my miniatures (like the skin) with the base color after the shading with the "quick shade".

Most of them wear some indian leggins or use tomahawks instead of the traditional knife.

 Note that there are various tones of green, to represent the fact that there is no official production for their clothes.
